Recently a group of St Luke's students visited both Swindon College and the Lackham Campus pf Wiltshire College and University Centre. Following their visit we received some excellent feedback on their behaviour and conduct on these visits from each host.
"I hope that your students enjoyed their visit to Swindon College on Friday.
I really enjoyed showing them around the campus -they were extremely polite and engaging and a credit to your school."
"On Friday 7th of February 2020, two learners and the Careers Lead from St. Luke's visited the Lackham campus of Wiltshire College & University Centre. The boys enjoyed a walk around many different parts of Lackham, which is the College's campus for land-based study. From the new Animal Centre to Home Farm, the Engineering Workshops to the Walled Gardens, the boys enjoyed the variety of engaging and practical opportunities on offer, asking lots of questions and using the opportunity to show off their own knowledge.
As well as dairy cows and sheep, they saw a variety of smaller animals including lots of birds and some very friendly pigs. A visit to the Milking Parlour gave them the chance to explain how cows are milked, and the tour included a visit to see the tree that produced an enormous, Guinness World Record winning lemon!
Throughout the boys were engaged, lively and present, clearly benefitting from the bespoke approach to careers taken at St. Luke's, and their dedicated Careers lead Becki. They were a pleasure to have at Lackham - hopefully we will see them again!'
