We’re gearing up to make a special appearance on local radio next week Friday 26th February.
Every year, Swindon 105.5 Community Radio hosts Community Day. This year, there will be a focus on mental health and the effects of covid-19 on education among other topics.
As part of the event, produced in association with the Zurich Community Trust, and which will include appearances from Swindon’s two MPs, St Luke’s Academy will be contributing between 10:00-11:00am.
Firstly, our Principal Mrs Buckingham will be interviewed to talk about Loneliness and Isolation during covid. She’ll discuss what we’ve done to adapt our teaching and learning, to provide pastoral support to our families, and to make sure effective safeguarding is continued.
Following Mrs Buckingham will be the real stars of the show, with a selection of poems, experiences, and stories being read by a number of our students!
The annual Community Day is always a fascinating insight into the work of our fellow Swindonians, and it’s wonderful to be able to take part and share our stories this year.
