A Shining Achievement for St Luke’s Pastoral and Teaching Community

A Shining Achievement for St Luke’s Pastoral and Teaching Community

At St Luke’s Academy, we are blessed with some amazing teaching, pastoral, and support staff.

Earlier this year in March, our Pastoral and Careers Lead, Becky Pedder, was congratulated at the annual Career Development Institute (CDi) awards for achieving all eight Gatsby benchmarks in her role at St Lukes.

The Gatsby benchmarks are a widely recognised framework of guidelines that define top-quality careers provision in secondary schools. By achieving all eight, Becky has helped St Luke’s Academy become the first Special School in Swindon to do so!

As well as being celebrated at the CDi awards, Becky also received a silver award at the Swindon Education Excellence awards.

Our staff community is the most important asset we have at St Luke’s Academy and we value the hard-work and ability of every member of staff working at the school.

Because our staff are our biggest asset, we understand the importance of investing in career development, training, and support to help our staff be the best they can be in their roles.

Over the course of the challenging months this year, our staff as a whole have demonstrated adaptability, continued hard work, and an amazing commitment to care.

We’d therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for making St Luke’s an excellent place for our students!
