St Luke's Academy Learning & Education

“Mechanics is the art of directing the great sources of power in nature for the use and convenience of man.”

New to this year, our year 9, 10, and 11 students are being offered the IMI Level 1 Award in Transport Maintenance. Within mechanics, our students will have an exciting opportunity to learn and practice everything from health and safety matters and cycle maintenance to the fundamental workings of a combustion engine.

Our students will have the opportunity to learn the concept of motor vehicle repair, including welding and the braking system, as well as servicing.

In order to complete the course, the students will need to complete all of the mandatory units as well as the selected course from the other groups.
