This term years 9 and 10 have been exploring in chemistry how everything around us is made up of atoms.
We have also been delving deeper inside atoms and looking at the even smaller particles that make them up. They learned that how something looks, feels and behaves in the world depends on how those little particles are arranged in the atoms.
One of the tasks they were given was to find the element whose atomic number matched their birth month and draw a diagram of how the subatomic particles were arranged.
