“What do points make?”
Throughout the first term at St Luke’s Academy, our students have been learning to adapt to all the changes we have made. These include the following: Lining up in silence after breaks, quiet transition times, using a one-way system, new staff, our lovely smart interior grey decoration designed by Laurence Lllewelyn-Bowen (joking of course!) new break and lunch timings and that’s just to name a few!
One of our most successful changes has been has been the revamp of the Academy’s reward system.
Throughout the term, Students have been working really hard in lessons to achieve the classroom expectations which include engaging fully in their work and communicating politely.
When students follow our expectations, they earn points which enable them to achieve fantastic rewards: 70 points earns a turn in our lucky dip; 100 points would earn you a fiddle toy; 250 points could mean you gain a £5 amazon voucher and 700 points could earn you a make- up hamper! On a more instantaneous note; full points enable a turn on the Go-Kart.
We are pleased that our students are engaging in our new reward system, receiving and enjoying the recognition they deserve. Many have already cashed in their points to receive vouchers, highlighters and fiddle toys.
Our top earners so far are: Nathan, Kelsie, Adrian, Thomas, Tate, Kian, Archie, AJ, Holly, TJ, Tyler, Elijah and Rhyleigh.
As we move towards half term, we look forward to continuing to reward the fantastic behaviour and effort of our students and see more and more top earners.
Keep up the super work!
And…in the words of the late, great, entertainer Sir Bruce Forsyth. “What do points make…. Prizes!”
