For World Book Day, the Maths department chose the book Holes by Louis Sachar.
The book is about teenagers at a detention centre digging holes for the warden who is looking for treasure. We used computer games from the NRICH website which provides resources focusing on problem-solving, building core mathematical reasoning and strategic thinking skills. We also had paper based mathematical treasure hunt.
