What a week for forest schools, we have been busy and very productive. Year 7's continue to explore fire and the many ways that it is helpful, from heat to cooking they have learned new ways to use this element.
Year 8's has been making headway with their knife work and have really started to sharpen their skills. We have been looking at what an amazing tool a knife is and how it can make life easier if you know how to use it safely.
Year 9's have been looking at the environment and how we can embrace the lessons that nature gives us for free.
As for woodland we have spent the week learning about the different parts of the axe and the history behind it. From here we used axes for snedding and even attempted to carve with forest axes.
