This term we have started to look at how to be more sustainable both at school and in life.
Our year 7s have been pitched against each other and given the task to build, establish and maintain a vegetable garden.
Each class starts with potatoes and then they are to plant one whole, one half and then a potato peel.
The competition is simple, plant and measure growth and ultimately see who can produce the largest yield.
Each week we will measure the growth to establish how the three different methods compare whilst maintaining their gardens.
This is going to be an exciting project that will show our students that growing their own is in their grasp.
