Catering and Food Technology Class Update Term 2 Week 3

It has been another busy week in the Kitchen cooking up a storm!

Nurture - have made cupcakes and learnt about equipment and its uses.
Year 7
- have looked at different cooking methods, making rock cakes.
Year 8
- have been learning about vitamins and minerals and what foods contain sources of these ,making fruit salad making sure they get their 5 a day in.
Year 9
- have been debating over advantages and disadvantages of different cooking methods, supporting their ASDAN course. A fry up always goes down well.
Year 10 and 11
- life skills have been recapping food groups and this week we looked at proteins and made quiche.
The option groups
have been busy in the catering kitchen, kitted out in their chefs whites, making chicken and vegetable pies and burgers.
Hope families have enjoyed trying the dishes we created!
